ISAIAH 61:1-4

ISAIAH 61:1-4

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me and has anointed me to
Preach the good news to the poor. .
Bind up the brokenhearted,
Proclaim freedom for the captives,
Proclaim release from darkness for the prisoners,
Comfort all who mourn
Provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them
The oil of gladness for mourning
And a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I ran across this quote out in the blogosphere. I need to make it my motto.

Today I'm thankful for good health, for the power to fight off an infection, for the blessing of having availability to a doctor and medicine I can afford.

Pastor Phylis

  1. I love the quote. The past few years, I've found myself more cynical and not so understanding and patient with those around me. It used to be so much easier to remember that I have no idea what might be going on in another's life or why they may be slow, in a hurry, mean, or whatever.

I need to slow down and extend grace.

  2. Amen ! like the quote and yes we need to be thankful for our health one never knows, marina

  3. great quote for sure...
it is so true that we all have our own dilemmas, problems that we are dealing with...
that is why kindness is the best way to go!!!
    Happy Sunday!
